Alphabitty Moments--Week 13

Preserving our family memories, one letter at a time.
My second favorite thing about living in New England...year-round baseball, which sounds silly given the amount of snow we get!  But seriously, there is no point in the year when you cannot tune into SNY and hear about the Mets.  (OK, OK...and the Yankees).  Jim and I grew up in the Tidewater area, leaving us only the Tidewater Tides for America's favorite pastime.  It just so happen the Tides were the Mets' farm team.  So it's always been fun to watch Mets' games and see guys we saw play in the minors hit homeruns, or pitch shut-outs, or make an amazing catch. In 1986, when we were both juniors, we got to see the Mets win the World Series!  My first MLB game was a Mets game in 1991.  Living close enough to say on a Saturday, "Hey, wanna try and get tickets to the game?" is so much fun!  And now we have dragged our kids in to this world of heartbreak...every year "will be the year," and every year it seems an integral player falls apart!  We haven't been able to make a game yet this year, so before I publish this book I want to replace this shot with a pic of the whole family at Citi Field.)  Woulda been so much better to capture the moment at Shea, but Nicholas will never get to visit that stadium.  Sigh. Don't forget to visit the campground to see more Alphabitty Moments!
