Happy Birth Day, Nicholas!

Nicholas Reid joined us on Sat, 8/23/08 at 10:43 a.m. via elective cesarean. Call it parents' intuition, but something was not feeling right about the VBAC we had planned as it stalled after 15 hours. Once in the OR, we discovered Nicholas was presenting face up and the cord was wrapped twice around his neck! We would have ended up with an emergency (and riskier) surgery anyway! He weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz and measured 21 inches long...all 1 week before his due date!
